The Castello di Bossi estate is located in the commune of Castelnuovo Berardenga in the southernmost tip of the Chianti Classico zone. Berardo is a shortened way of saying, “it comes from Berardenga.” Areas further south in Chianti Classico tend to produce rounder, fuller versions of Chianti and this wine is a perfect example of this rich elegance.
Luminous ruby-red in color with spicy aromas of wild berries, tobacco, tamarind and a hint of menthol. On the palate, Berardo is almost creamy in texture with a fine-grained structure that is powerful without being aggressive.
Recommended with leaner styles of steak, and braised meats. Excellent with out Wild Boar alla Cacciatora, Veal Osso Buco alla Milanese or Beef Short Rib Ravioli.
